Assosa University Launches Applied Science Training for Teachers

Assosa University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education launches a three-day training program under the general title “Actionable Differentiation: Co-Creating UAS Model with the FAITH Toolboxes for University of Applied Sciences.”

The training program was opened by Dr. Abdulmuhsin Hassen, Vice President for ASU Academic Affairs, who pointed out the purpose of the training to strengthen teacher’s awareness towards the implementation as University of Applied Science.

In his speech, Dr. Abdulmuhsin explained as the initiative is designed to empower teachers with practical tools that bridge theory and practice, foster industry partnerships, and ensure that teaching and research directly contribute to Ethiopia’s development priorities. He emphasized that applied science is not only about academic excellence but also about creating solutions for society, preparing graduates to meet industry demands, and advancing regional development through innovation and co-creation.

Over the three days, participants will engage on the following training specific titles: ‘Implementing quality internships, Industry Partnerships and Regional Development in Ethiopian University of Applied Sciences, Applied Research band Industry Co-Creation, Outcome-based Curriculum, Engaging for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Teaching, Research, and Management of UAS in Ethiopia’.
