he University has organized a three‑day intensive training program on Thematic Research Conceptualization, Design, and Implementation for its academic staff.
The training is designed for Directors, Department Heads, academic staff, and fellow researchers.
Opening the program, Dr. Oumer Sherif, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, emphasized Assosa University’s commitment to advancing thematic research as a strategic tool for addressing the development needs of the Benishangul‑Gumuz Region and Ethiopia at large.
He also noted that the Research, Publication, Ethics, and Extension Directorate initiated this training to equip academic staff and researchers with the skills required to transform ideas into collaborative, high‑quality, and impact‑oriented research.
The sessions are being led by Professor Belay Tefera from Addis Ababa University, who is focusing on the fundamentals of thematic research, proposal writing, and effective implementation strategies.
