


Assosa University conducted an External Curriculum Validation Workshop involving five colleges and thirteen academic departments.
The workshop brought together college deans, department heads, and external curriculum validators to review and strengthen the University’s academic programs.
The workshop was officially inaugurated by Dr. Yared Mulu, President of Assosa University, who welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of developing curricula that respond to national and international realities while addressing the demands of applied sciences and professional fields.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Yared highlighted that curriculum development should incorporate the perspectives of government institutions, industry stakeholders, and the broader community. He stressed the need to ensure that graduates are equipped not only to seek employment but also to become innovators and job creators.
He further noted that academic programs should be evidence-based, solution-oriented, creative, and responsive to community needs while maintaining competitiveness at both national and international levels.
Dr. Yared also expressed his appreciation to the external validators drawn from various universities and industries, stating that their expertise and constructive feedback would play a vital role in developing high-quality and relevant curricula.
The external validators participated from wollo and Gonder universitis on zoom meeting.
During the workshop, departments presented their needs assessments and revised curricula for evaluation by academic and industry professionals. Participants emphasized that curricula should be designed to align with technological advancements, emerging industry demands, and societal needs, ensuring that graduates possess the knowledge and skills required in a rapidly changing world.
