Assosa University Hosts Validation Workshop on Blended Academic Programs

Assosa University has conducted a Validation Workshop for its newly developed blended academic programs as part of its commitment to advancing quality, accessibility, and global competitiveness in higher education through digital learning innovations.

In the era of digital transformation, the University is taking significant steps to modernize teaching and learning by integrating technology with conventional educational approaches.

The initiative reflects Assosa University’s dedication to ensuring inclusive, flexible, and high-quality education for diverse learners.

Opening the workshop, Dr. Wondem Mekuria, Delegate Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized that the introduction of blended programs is not merely a new academic milestone but a strategic effort aimed at strengthening educational quality, expanding access to higher education, and enhancing institutional competitiveness at both national and international levels.

The workshop focused on validating blended learning programs in four disciplines: Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Information Science.

During the event, Mr. Waltangue Birhanie, Director of the E-Learning Management Directorate, presented the University’s achievements in digital learning and highlighted the opportunities that e-learning offers for improving educational delivery, increasing access, and strengthening institutional capacity.

His presentation underscored the growing importance of leveraging technology to support innovative and learner-centered education.

The validation workshop brought together college deans, department heads, academic directors, and other academic staff who provided valuable feedback and recommendations to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the programs.
