Mr. Wagari Kelbessa Gibina
Dean for College of Health Science
Welcome to Assosa University College of Health Science
As I reflect on the past five years, I am inspired by what we have accomplished together and energized by the possibilities for our future. With our vision as the aim, guided by our values and commitments, we strive for excellence in everything we do.
The College of Health Sciences is an exciting, dynamic environment where students and faculty are engaged in classroom and practice-based activities, research, and service in our five disciplines: Public Health, Comprehensive Nursing, Midwifery, Pharmacy, and Medical Laboratory Science in under graduate program and MPH in General Public Health, MPH in Reproductive Health and Msc in Health Informatics in Post Graduate programs.
To meet the needs of our students and the communities, we have developed an innovative approach to health science education that excels disciplinary boundaries, encourages students to take control of their learning, and emphasizes student-centered design and independence. Our students leave our college with a firm understanding of healthcare delivery systems – from the progressions of human needs, to the mathematics and science underlying state-of-the-art health technologies.
We continually develop transformative educational experiences with collaborators around the nation to ensure our students possess the requisite knowledge and skills to succeed. Currently we have more than 64 active working staffs and 286 undergraduate and 41 post graduate students.
Thank you for your interest in the College of Health Sciences. We are extremely proud of the positive impact our graduates are making in the health sector and we invite you to join us.
